FARMINGTON – The Farmington Historical Society will meet Monday, May 10, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church on Academy Street. There will be pot-luck supper at 6 p.m. followed by a business meeting and program at 7 p.m. Maine guide Roger Lambert will speak on the history of recreation in Maine with an emphasis on the late 1800s.
Guests and new members are welcome.
College workshop
WILTON – The Essentials of College Planning workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at the East Wilton Career Center at 865 US Route 2.

Volunteers sought
STRONG – Volunteers are needed for a work day for the Lance Corporal Scott Paul Town Park that will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 16.
Help is needed to rake, remove brush, paint and more to help open the park for the summer.

Hospital anniversary
FARMINGTON – Franklin Memorial Hospital will celebrate its 75th anniversary with activities and a community open house on June 27.
The hospital would like to honor everyone still living who has worked there at any time since its founding in 1929 by listing their names in the 75th anniversary program.
A special commemorative pin will be given to all who sign up. To be included in the anniversary program and receive the commemorative pin, return an ad running in local newspapers or register on the hospital Web site at www.fchn.org by June 1.
