ROCHESTER, N.Y. – John J. “Jack” Sturtevant, 75, born on May 9, 1929, in Lewiston, son of Bernard and Elizabeth Wade Sturtevant, died on April 28, following a long illness.

He lived in Sabattus and attended Sabattus Elementary School. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1947. After graduation, he moved to Rochester, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He retired from General Dynamics in Rochester in 1994. He married Josephine Yasso on June 20, 1956.

He was the cherished uncle of Barbara Creamer of Rochester, Michael (Cindy) Creamer of Leicester, N.Y., Leonard (Sue) Creamer of Rochester, N.Y., Linda Kleehammer of Farmington, N.Y., John (Rita) Creamer of Rochester, N.Y. and Charles (Sandra) Creamer of Rochester, N.Y.; brother, Bernard (Pearl) Sturtevant Jr.; sisters, Elizabeth (Armando) DiSessa of Rochester, N.Y., Irene Dagneau of Lisbon and Marie Sturtevant of Lewiston; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine on April 10.
