JAY – Selectmen are scheduled to hold a public hearing Monday on a proposal to ban large trucks from parking on the east side of Main Street in Chisholm.

The restricted parking area would be from the Livermore Falls line to Jewell Street in front of St. Rose of Lima Church and the parish hall.

Complaints have been made about sight restrictions if big trucks were parked on that side of the road when people are trying to enter or exit Main Street from Church and Jewell streets.

Also on the agenda at 6 p.m. at the Community Center is the Raymond Paul family to discuss Parker Pond Road in East Jay.

More than 300 people have signed a petition asking selectmen to take all necessary steps to make Parker Pond Road a town way or recreational easement.

Selectmen are seeking input to see if residents want selectmen to pursue the road issue.

The Paul family has posted the gravel road leading to Parker Pond so that access is with written permission only. Landowners with property on the road can travel it without permission.

The Paul family members say they were tired of excessive partying, noise and litter.
