NORWAY – A public interest forum titled “What Has USA Done in Haiti?” will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at the Norway Memorial Library on Main Street.

Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School students with Bill Slavic, author and activist and Pax Christi Maine coordinator, will share the information gathered in their research and invite discussion.

Planning seminar

PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce and American Express Financial Advisors will present a “Retirement Planning” seminar at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce Office, 213 Main St. It will cover: How much it will cost to live out retirement dreams and how to pay for it; tax consequences of investment choices, and how to fund retirement and still accomplish other goals, such as home ownership or education funds. Each person will receive a financial workbook. Space is limited. People can preregister by calling 743-2281.

Wound center

BRIDGTON – The Wound Center at Bridgton Hospital, a comprehensive outpatient clinic for the treatment of chronic wounds, is now accepting patients in the clinic wing of the hospital.

According to Bridgton Hospital nurse Karen Harding, R.N., wound care specialist, “A chronic wound is considered one that has not healed by conventional means after approximately four weeks of treatment. Examples of wounds that will be treated at The Wound Center are diabetes ulcers, complex soft tissue wounds, venous stasis ulcers, and pressure ulcers.”

The Wound Center at Bridgton Hospital will see patients on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. For more information or an appointment call 647-6120.
