SOUTH PARIS – Kelsey Rodrique found the back of the net with 10 seconds remaining in regulation to propel Lewiston to an 11-10 win over Oxford Hills in KVAC lacrosse action Monday afternoon.

The Blue Devils’ Rodrique and Gen Lyon scored three goals each while Marina McDonald and Kelsey Varnet added a pair of goals each. Becky Tardif rounded out the attack.

Angine Hilaire turned back 14 shots in goal to register the victory.

The Vikings were led by Aimee McKeen with four goals and an assist, while Abigail Bunnell added two goals in the loss.

Softball
Poland 9, Falmouth 4

POLAND – Meghan McNally belted a bases-loaded double in the fourth inning to rally Poland to a 9-4 win over Falmouth in softball action Monday.

The Knights (6-5) were trailing 4-0 in the fourth, when McNally began a six-run rally with a double, and pitcher Brianna Pratte singled to plate another two runs to tie the contest.

Poland added three safeties in the sixth inning, and Pratte kept the Yachtsmen (4-7) from scoring down the stretch.

Madison 10, Mt. Abram 6

MADISON – Stephanie Vigue singled in the bottom of the fifth inning and scored on a fielders’ choice for the go-ahead run as Madison handed Mt. Abram a 10-6 setback in a MVC softball game.

Rachel King, Breanna Conners, Vigue, and Ashley Marandola each rapped out a pair of hits for the Bulldogs (8-2). Sarah Smith registered the win with a complete game.

Ashley Dalesandro had a pair of hits, including a double, and Stephanie Hood added a pair of single for the Raodrunners (6-4).

Livermore Falls 11, Mountain Valley 7

RUMFORD – Livermore Falls erupted for four runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to rally for an 1107 victory over Mountain Valley.

The Falcons had built a 6-3 advantage before the Andies (5-4) erupted for their eight runs. Danielle Richard came on in relief of Casandra Purrington in the fifth inning to register the victory.

The Falcons were led by Jen Kellogg and Mallory Thurston, who rapped out a pair of hits.

Abby Mills suffered the loss.

Skowhegan 1, EL 0

SKOWHEGAN – Locked in a classic pitchers’ duel, the Indians capitalized on the only mistake of the game, a wild pitch, as Skowhegan edged Edward Little 1-0 in softball action Monday.

Wendy Fortier hit a triple for the Indians before scoring on a two-out wild pitch.

Michelle Daigle had seven strikeouts for the Indians, while Brittany Short fanned two for the Red Eddies (4-8).

Leavitt 3, Messalonskee 2

OAKLAND – Laura Pratt singled home Sam St.Hilaire for the game-winning run in the top of the eighth as Leavitt knocked off Messalonskee 3-2.

The Hornets (8-4) had tied the game in the seventh on an RBI single by Lindsey Sierra that drove in Alanna Leonard. Starting pitcher Clarice Pepper struck out 16 and had two hits and an RBI for Messalonskee (9-3).

Jay 14, Boothbay 0

BOOTHBAY – Bree Loon scattered three hits and fanned 12 to pitch Jay to a 14-0 triumph over Boothbay.

The game was close for three innings before the Tigers (6-1) put the game away with five runs in the fourth inning.

Jay’s 20-hit attack was led by Kylie Dimillo and Jana Fettehoff with three hits apiece. Five other players chipped in with two singles apiece.

Lewiston 10, Waterville 0

WATERVILLE – Allie Morin lofted a sacrifice fly to plate her sister, Katie, in the fourth inning for the only run the Blue Devils needed as Lewiston rolled to a 10-0 win over Waterville in KVAC softball action Monday.

The Blue Devils (9-4) wore down the Panthers’ (3-10) pitching as the innings progressed, scoring five in the final frame and garnering 15 hits on the afternoon. Amanda Michaud was solid on the mound with eight strikeouts.

Alisha Champagne hit a double for one of the Panthers’ two hits, while Nicole Caron had three hits for the Blue Devils.

Telstar 15, Monmouth 0

MONMOUTH – Tiffany Jordan and Kayla Mills each drilled three hits as Telstar cruised to a 15-0 win in MVC softball action Monday.

The flood gates opened in the fourth inning as the Rebels (8-0) exploded for 12 runs, effectivley putting the game out of reach behind a strong pitching performance by Jillian Kimball, who struck out nine.

Jessie Farington, Megan Luney, and Liz Rosenberg each added a pair of hits.

Kayla Chick suffered the loss for the Mustangs (2-5).

Buckfield 12, Rangeley 0

BUCKFIELD – Desiree Brackett pitched a four-hit shutout and struck out nine to lead Buckfield to a 12-0 victory over Rangeley.

Brackett also had a double and single, while Tiffany Dunn had three hits for the Bucks (7-1). Sabrina Clark had two hits and was the only repeat hitter for the Lakers (2-3).

Brunswick 2, Oxford Hills 1

SOUTH PARIS – Kathy Flanagan singled home Emily Pollock for the game-winning run in the third as Brunswick defeated Oxford Hills 2-1.

Chelsey Blais went the distance, striking our eight batters for the Dragons (11-1). Katie Budjinski knocked in Lauren Austin for the Viking’s (7-5) only run.

Winthrop 16, Dirigo 0

DIXFIELD – Nic Emery pitched a two-hit shutout with five strikeouts to lead Winthrop to a 16-0 victory over Dirigo.

Nic Emery, Hannah Salois and Joe Palleschi each had two hits for the Ramblers (4-4). Megan Russell and Katie Hutchinson had the only hits for Dirigo (0-10).
