TURNER – Emily Allen, a 2001 graduate of Leavitt Area High School, helped her Lenoir-Rhyne College (Hickory, N.C.) women’s golf team capture the South Atlantic Conference Championship.
Allen, a junior, finished first for the team and third overall in the 36-hole tournament played in Rock Hill, S.C. She earned All-Tournament honors with her performance.
Allen has been named to the Conference All-Academic Team for three straight years. She is also a Dean’s List student.
The two-time Maine State Schoolgirl Golf Champion will return home this summer to compete in the New England Women’s Golf Championship in Vermont, and also the Maine State Women’s Amateur Championship at Waterville Country Club in July.
She is the daughter of Marie and Peter Allen of Turner.
