LEWISTON – Members of area veterans organizations and the public are invited to attend ceremonies in the observance of Armed Forces Day to be held on May 15 at noon at the Veterans Memorial Park, Lewiston side of the James B. Longley Memorial Bridge. The program will open with singing of the “Star Spangled Banner” by the assembly followed by invocation by the Rev. Donald L. Miller, U.S.N. (ret.) Chaplains Corps. The guest speaker will be announced.
The names of Maine servicemen killed in Iraq and Afghanistan will be read followed by “Taps” and “God Bless America” by the assembly.
