Josh Dwinal smacks a homer and knocks in three runs for St. Dom’s.

HIRAM – Josh Dwinal went 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs to pace St. Dom’s to a 14-1 romp over Sacopee Valley in another local baseball matchup Tuesday.

Jimmy Mayo chipped with a double and three RBIs, while Ryan Turgeon and John Rutt went 3-for-4 for the Saints (7-1). Brent Carey allowed just two hits while notching the win.

Brandon Fenderson led the offensive effort for Sacopee with a double, while Dave Chute gave up nine runs in the first inning and took the loss.

Cony 4, Leavitt 2

AUGUSTA – In what proved to be a pitcher’s duel, Cony’s Miles Whitlock led his team on the mound to a 4-2 victory over Leavitt in baseball action Tuesday.

Craig Cameron hit two singles and recorded one RBI for Cony (11-1).

Leavitt had four hits, but three errors hurt the Hornets (5-7) in the KVAC contest.

Boys’ lacrosse

NYA 17, St. Dom’s 2

AUBURN – Connor Hamnun netted nine goals as NYA posted a 17-2 triumph over St. Dom’s in boys’ lacrosse action Tuesday.

The Panthers jumped out to an early lead, 15-1, in the first half of the contest. Peter Gerrity, Nathaniel Bishop, Jack Sidar, and Kyle Clayton combined for eight goals and six assists for NYA.

St. Dom’s (1-6) injury-plagued team battled the Panthers, holding them to only two goals in the second half. Tavian McKinnon and Andrew Nadeau each scored a goal for the Saints.

Girls’ lacrosse

Mt. Ararat 19, Oxford Hills 5

SOUTH PARIS – Erika Gamman netted a game-high six points and recorded two assists as Mt. Ararat dominated and rolled to a 19-5 win over Oxford Hills in lacrosse action Tuesday.

Emmie Thebeige chipped in with four goals and three assists for the Eagles (7-1). Michelle Sirois, Maggie Murphy, Rachel Bernier, Sarah Vosmos, and Jocelyn Grabowski combined for nine goals and four assists as well.

Aimee McKeen, Ashley Lewis, and Leah Justraf made up the five Viking (2-6) goals.

Lewiston 18, Lincoln 4

NEWCASTLE – Luca Jacobsen netted three goals to pace Lewiston to a 18-4 romp over Lincoln Academy in girls’ lacrosse action Tuesday.

Caitlin Anthoine, Lindsey Dostie and Ashley Joy chipped in for the Blue Devils (4-4) with two goals each. Angie St. Hilaire and Mary Leblanc combined for 14 saves in net for Lewiston.

Kristy Hammond led Lincoln (0-8) with three goals, while Liz Barclay made 17 saves in net.

Morse 10, Mountain Valley 8

RUMFORD – Molly Underwood netted four goals to lead Morse to a narrow 10-8 victory over Mountain Valley in a girls’ lacrosse matchup Tuesday.

Abby Miller chipped in for the Shipbuilders (2-5) with three goals, while Stephanie Sudds, Sara Bryant and Freya Damrell tallied single goals to complete the scoring. Shelby Kaplan turned back 10 shots in net to notch the win.

Jessica Allen led the Falcons (3-5) with a game-high five goals, while Ashley Arsenault, Gail Manson and Pam Johnson added one goal each to round out the tally. Jen Hamann made 11 saves in net for Mountain Valley.
