BOOTHBAY – Kayla Mills slammed a three-run homer in the fifth inning as Telstar dominated over Boothbay 20-2 in MVC softball action Wednesday.

Jesse Farrington tossed a no-hitter in her pitching debut.

The undefeated Rebels (8-0), who finished with 22 hits, only had three going into the fourth inning. But Telstar put the game away with seven runs in the fourth and 12 more in the fifth.

Mills led Telstar with five hits, while Farrington, Santana Wilson, Ashley Stambolis, Jillian Kimball, and Sarah Farnum combined for 14 hits.

Livermore Falls 5, Wiscasset 3

WISCASSET – Danielle Gray had two hits and two RBIs to carry Livermore Falls to a 5-3 win against Wiscasset.

Cassandra Purrington went the distance for the Andies (6-4), striking out seven to earn her fourth win of the season. Margorie Debrosky scored two runs for Livermore Falls.

Wiscasset (2-5) was led by Heather Gray’s three hits.

Georges Valley 14, Mt. Abram 2

THOMASTON – Rachel Strong went 4-for-4 and had three RBIs to lead Georges Valley to a 14-2 triumph over Mt. Abram.

Elena Bertocci hit a triple for the Buccaneers (7-0), while Lacey Stone had two hits. Lindsey Barlow pitched a strong seven innings, striking out five batters en route to her third win.

The Roadrunners (6-5) were paced by Ashia Barrill with a double.

Mtn. Valley 8, Dirigo 0

RUMFORD – Abby Mills pitched a three hit shutout to lead Mountain Valley to an 8-0 victory over Dirigo.

Mills also belted a three-run triple in the fifth inning, while Kelly Palmer added a pair of doubles for the Falcons (2-5).

Michelle Holmquist, Shannon Daley and Courtney Derouche had the three hits for Dirigo (0-11).

Leavitt 1, Med. Valley 0

TURNER – Jess Paladino singled in Beth Burgess in the fourth inning for the game’s only run in Leavitt’s 1-0 victory over Medomak Valley.

The Hornets’ run came during a three-hit outburst after they had stranded four runners in the first three innings. The Hornets (9-4) had scoring opportunities early on put couldn’t put anything across until Paladino’s RBI single.

Sam St. Hilaire fired a one-hitter and struck out 11 for Leavitt (9-4).

Sue Lee had the lone hit for the Panthers (9-4).

Poland 4, Fryeburg 1

FRYEBURG – Meghan McNally doubled and scored to lead Poland to a 4-1 victory over Fryeburg in WMC softball action Wednesday.

McNally tagged a double in the second inning to plate a run for the Knights (7-5), and came home when the ball rolled past the left fielder. Poland scored a couple of insurance runs in the seventh, while Rachel Roberts came on in relief to save the game for Brianna Pratte.

Bryane Hennessey led the Raiders (2-9) with a pair of singles.

Jay 9, Lisbon 0

LISBON – Bree Loon fanned eight batters and kept Lisbon’s hitters off-balance to spark Jay to a 9-0 triumph over the Greyhounds.

Jay jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first two innings and never relented. Kaylee Demillo and Jana Fettehoff each posted two hits for the Tigers (7-1).

Oak Hill 1, Lincoln 0

NEWCASTLE – Magan Blais hit a single in the sixth inning to score Julie Lizotte to snap a scoreless deadlock as Oak Hill edged Lincoln 1-0.

Danielle Sargent pitched a two-hit shutout and struck out 14 batters for the Raiders (9-2). Ashley Malinowski hit two doubles for Oak Hill.

Lincoln pitcher Nicole Russell scattered five hits and had four strikeouts.

Kents Hill 10, Hebron 5

KENTS HILL – Lauren Chin smacked a triple as Kents Hill rolled past Hebron for a 10-5 softball triumph.

Kelli Doolin hit two doubles, while Nyssa Robinson, Kate Webb, and Shannon Murphy each had doubles.

Danielle Dawson hit a double to pace Hebron.

Brunswick 4, Mt. Blue 1

BRUNSWICK – Karen Kemmerle singled in a pair of runs in the first inning to lift Brunswick to a 4-1 triumph over Mt. Blue.

Emily Pollock, who had a pair of hits, doubled and scored in the first inning for the Dragons (12-1).

Brandi Rand pitched her first complete game for the Cougars (0-13) since coming back from an injury, striking out two and allowing six hits in the loss.

Lacrosse
Gould 13, Kents Hill 3

BETHEL – Betsy Caraboolad netted six goals and had one assist to lead Gould to a 13-3 victory over Kents Hill.

Sara Veltre also pitched in with two goals and four assists for the Huskies (7-4) and Maddy Cave had two goals. Stephanie Tewksbury scored two goals for Kents Hill (1-8).

Hebron 12, Hyde 11

HEBRON – Maddy Campbell netted seven goals, including the game winner with two minutes remaining in the contest, to lift Hebron to a 12-11 victory over Hyde.

Cindy Lebel added three goals, and Taylor Fey chipped in with two goals for Hebron.

Hyde was paced by Meddy Hurd and Jackie Little with a combined nine goals. Sarah Romac and Alice Wilson also scored.
