Bond proposed for Maranacook High

READFIELD – There will be an additional item for residents of Manchester, Mount Vernon, Readfield and Wayne to vote on in June. The School Committee of Community School District 10 is asking voters to authorize a general obligation bond, which wouldn’t exceed $170,000. It would finance critical repairs at the Maranacook High School complex.

The repairs would be: replacement of roofing shingles over the high school gymnasium and multipurpose room, replacement of the carpet in the high School media center, replacement of the drainage and tennis court, and repairs to the outdoor track.

Municipal lease/purchase and interest rates are low, which was a consideration for the School Committee, which unanimously voted to present this proposal to the public. A fact sheet about the bond will be available at all four town offices. Or people can receive a copy by calling superintendent’s office, 685-3336.
