AUBURN – Rec-Ing Crew (1) captured the post-season championship in the Auburn Rec Women’s Slowdown Basketball League this week with a 53-45 victory over Palmer’s Insurance (2). Crew went unbeaten in the playoffs.

The champs led 13-10 after one quarter, 25-23 at halftime, and 37-34 entering the final chapter.

Lynn Girard led the winners with 19 points. Anita Thomas added 12. Joleen Blue chipped in with 9.

Dawn Gilbert paced Palmer’s with 15. Adding support were Sue Swanson (11) and Rochelle Plumber (7).
