WASHINGTON – Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins announced Tuesday that Tri-Town Ambulance and Emergency Rescue Services of West Paris will receive a $2,645 grant to help purchase a new ambulance.

The funding is from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development program.

“This is the final round of federal funding necessary for Tri-Town to finally buy its new ambulance,” said the Maine senators in a joint statement.

Tri-Town received a $44,600 federal grant last year and was responsible for raising $68,300 for the ambulance.

Tri-Town provides services to West Paris, Greenwood, Woodstock, Milton Township and Sumner.
