• May 17, 2:34 p.m. – A Falmouth Street caller reported that her handicap placard was stolen from the inside of her vehicle on May 16 while it was parked at Hannaford’s between 2:30 and 3 p.m.
• May 17, 8:58 a.m. – Vehicles driven by Ginger Pike, 20, of Rumford and Angelyn Addams, 21, of Mexico, collided at the intersection of Maine Avenue and York Street. Damage to Addams’ 2001 Hyundai sedan was estimated at $500; to Pike’s 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue sedan, $1,000. Addams’s two young children, ages 5 months and 17 months, were transported to Rumford Hospital by Med-Care Ambulance, treated and released.
• May 17, 6:47 a.m. – A 2004 Chevrolet Malibu sedan, driven by Brianna Cannuli, 26, of Rumford, rolled over twice and came to rest on its side off South Rumford Road after Cannuli reportedly took her eyes off the road to reach into the back seat. No damage was listed in the police report for the rental car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car of Boston. Neither Cannuli nor her children, Dale, 8, and Caitlyn, 6, who were all wearing safety belts, were injured.
• May 16 – A Cumberland Street resident filed a noise complaint on a green Ford car driving around with its radio volume so loud that she couldn’t hear the television. Police located the car, based on another loud noise complaint, and issued a summons to the driver Ronald Harding, 41, of Rumford, for excessive sound system noise. Passengers summoned were Peter Spadea, 29, of Mexico, who was reportedly intoxicated and consuming alcohol, for violation of conditions of release; and Michael Moore, 20, and Matthew Gallant, 26, both of Rumford and both for safety belt violations.
• May 16, 5:32 p.m. – A 6-year-old child suffered minor injuries after he rode his bicycle out of a Waldo Street driveway and into the path of a car, which couldn’t stop in time. The youth was treated at the scene by Med-Care Ambulance medics.
• May 16, 6:42 a.m. – A Rumford Elementary School official reported that two of the school’s windows had been broken. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
• May 16, 1:24 a.m. – A woman reported that she’d given an intoxicated man a ride home, but when he got out of her vehicle, he tried to rip her car door off. Estimated damages have yet to be filed.
• May 15, 9 p.m. – A Rumford resident reported that someone stole the windshield wipers off his Pontiac Sunfire car while it was parked at McDonald’s fast food restaurant on Route 2 as he ate his meal inside. Police said the culprit placed napkins under the windshield wiper arms so that when operated, they wouldn’t scratch the windshield. There are no suspects.
• May 11, 3 p.m. – A Mountain Valley High School girl received an harassment warning for allegedly harassing another girl and keying her vehicle while it was parked in the school lot.
• May 11, 10:24 p.m. – A 1993 Mercury Topaz received an estimated $4,000 in damages after its driver, Michael A. Fisher, 24, of Andover, struck a moose on the Ellis River Road (Route 5). The moose was killed in the collision. Fisher suffered a cut finger.
• May 10, 9:52 p.m. – A caller reported seeing a man down on Oxford Avenue. Arriving police called Med-Care Ambulance to transport a 34-year-old Mexico man, who had been assaulted and suffered a head wound, to Rumford Hospital.
He was later transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, treated and released. The ensuing investigation led to the arrests later that night of Scott B. Pike, 21, of Rumford, and Peter Cunningham, 20, of Rumford, on charges each of Class C felony aggravated assault.
Cunningham was also issued a summons for violation of conditions of release. Both Pike and Cunningham were released on $5,000 unsecured bail each on the assault charges. They are to be arraigned in Rumford District Court on July 6.

• Brian N. Magnussen, 28, of North Attleboro, Mass., on an Oxford County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of burning without a permit, on May 15. He was released on $140 cash bail.
• Troy Ryerson, 35, of Bryant Pond, on a charge of assault, on May 14. He was released on $250 unsecured bail.
• Michael E. Child, 40, of Mexico, on a charge of operating under the influence, second offense, on May 13. He was released on $100 cash bail.
• A 16-year-old Rumford boy, on a charge of disorderly conduct, on May 11. He was transported to Oxford County jail.

• Steven Morton, 18, of Rumford, on a charge of possession of a usable amount of marijuana, on May 13.

• Nathan Swan, 19, of Rumford, on charges of illegal possession of liquor by a minor and possession of a usable amount of marijuana, on May 11.
• A 17-year-old Bethel boy, on a charge of possession of a usable amount of marijuana, on May 11.
