FARMINGTON – The SAD 9 music department has scheduled spring concerts for the district schools. These concerts are the culmination of this academic year’s performance curriculums and will showcase the choruses, bands and orchestra in the elementary, middle and high schools.
The SAD 9 concerts are:
Monday, May 24, Weld Fine Arts Night, 6:30 p.m. at the Weld Town Office
Wednesday, May 26, Mount Blue Middle School, 7 p.m., Mount Blue Middle School
Thursday, May 27, Mount Blue High School, 7 p.m. at Mount Blue High
Wednesday, June 2, Academy Hill School concert, 1:30 p.m. at Academy Hill School
Thursday, June 3, Cape Cod Hill School concert, 10 a.m. at the Cape Cod school
Friday, June 4, Cascade Brook fourth and fifth grade concert – two performances, at 10 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. at Cascade Brook School
Tuesday, June 8, Cascade Brook School 6th grade concert – two performances, at 9:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Cascade Brook School.
Music educators involved in preparing these concerts are Nancy Beacham, Steve Muise, Karen Beacham, Darryl Pike, Anne Geller, Kay Sullivan, Andy Buckland, Jane Parker, Jim Perkins and Carol Shumway.
The Mount Blue High School is has announced that three of its student musicians who were successful in their auditions to participate in the Maine Music Educators All State In-Service Conference. It will be on May 20 to 22 at the University of Maine at Orono. Kaitlyn Hall will sing in the All-State chorus; Andrea Belanger and Miranda Blanchard will play in the All-State orchestra.
