Four Mainers who compete in Masters swimming have received World Top Ten rankings, according to FINA, the international governing body of swimming. John White, 87, of Minot, was ranked sixth in both the 100 and 200 meter backstrokes in the 85-89 age group.

Bill Rupert of Turner achieved his placements in the backstroke events in the 60-64 group.

David Bright, 51, of Brunswick, placed in the 200 backstroke and 800 meter freestyle in the 50-54 category.

Mike Schmidt of Waterville was ranked in the 40-44 age group for his performance in the 200 meter butterfly.
