Screening set

MEXICO – SAD 43 will hold another kindergarten screening on Thursday, June 10. If a child will be 5 years on or before Oct. 15 and has not yet been screened, call the neighborhood school by Friday, June 4, to preregister: Meroby Elementary 364-3715, Rumford Elementary 364-8155 or Virginia Elementary 364-2112.

The screening will take place at the superintendent’s office at 3 Recreation Drive. Parents will need to bring the child, the original birth certificate (from the town where the child was born), immunization information and the child’s Social Security card.

Service held

RUMFORD – The Rumford Lodge of Elks 862 held its traditional public Mother’s Day service on May 9.

Taking part were Exalted Ruler George Wyman; Leading Knight Sandra Welch; filling in as lecturing knight, Bebe Belanger; Loyal Knight Ann Wood; filling in as chaplain, David Briggs; filling in as esquire, Jim White; secretary Debi Briggs; and trustee, Richie Philbrick.

Cooks Dick Welch and Albert Pomerleau Jr. served a French toast and sausage breakfast with fruit cocktail, juice and coffee.
