Disgust, rage, sorrow, grief.

These are only a few of the emotions I felt when I opened my paper May 12 and saw what the Sun Journal chose to put on the front page.

The photograph of Michael and David Berg as they were overcome by grief upon finding out about the murder of their son and brother is not only an insult to them, but to all of us who have been in that horrifying and surreal moment when you are told that your loved one has been murdered.

I realize that I am hardly impartial, being the daughter of a murder victim. However, I have no problem with the reporting of murders, even the details and facts of the murder. It is, in fact, news.

What the Sun Journal put on the front page on May 12 was not news, only human suffering at what should have been a private moment never seen by the rest of the world. While I realize that the Sun Journal did not take the photograph, you did choose to put it on the front page.

Shame on you. And since you’re apparently so interested in that type of thing, I looked exactly the same when I was told about my father’s murder 19 years ago. I guess I’m lucky no one had a camera handy.
