JAY – The town’s Public Works Department’s Forest Circle Drainage project has been recognized by the Institute of Municipal Engineers.

It was named second place project for the 2003 Public Works Excellence Award in the large town/small city category.

The institute recognizes outstanding municipal public works projects in Maine.

“We hope that this award helps to recognize the quality, innovation, value and community satisfaction that your public works organization put forth in accomplishing this project,” institute representative Craig Worth wrote to Director of Public Works John Johnson.

“Congratulations for a job well done,” Worth stated.

The town will receive an award plaque for this achievement on June 3 at the closing 13th annual Highway Congress in Skowhegan.
