CARTHAGE – A Carthage man was charged with violating bail conditions by having indirect contact with a victim he’d been ordered to stay away from.

Seth Guthartz, 24, posted $500 cash bail Thursday, said Franklin County Sheriff’s Detective David St. Laurent.

Guthartz was out on bail for an alleged domestic assault that reportedly included threatening a victim with a knife.

He was charged in April with assault, terrorizing with a dangerous weapon and obstruction of the report of a crime.

One of the conditions of his release was to have no contact, direct or indirect, with the victim, St. Laurent said.
