LEWISTON – The Jesus Party will host a Memorial Day gathering for children ages 5 and older at 6 p.m. Friday, May 28, at 291 Bates St.

The event will honor the nation’s patriots who gave what Abraham Lincoln called “The last full measure of devotion,” said the Rev. Douglas E. Taylor, director of the Pentecostal Kids’ Church.

The ministry will teach on the true meaning behind Memorial Day. Children will view a 23-minute video honoring the brave men and women who have died to preserve freedom.

Taylor says it is the duty and sacred privilege of the young and old alike to honor all who have defended democracy throughout the nation’s history. Children will have an opportunity to win G.I.
