RUMFORD – The Travelers from Jay defeated The Penalty Box 18-3 in the championship game of the recent Rumford Women’s Softball League One-Pitch Tournament.

Lisa Jodrey whacked a triple. Other key hits were registered by winning hurler Ida Barker, Tammy Castonguay, Sara Andersen and Jane Dipompo.

The Travelers played excellent defense.

A-K Girls League

LEEDS – Leeds earned 2 victories over the Greene Gators in the 12-Under Division.

Taylor Perry collected 4 hits, including a triple, as Leeds outslugged the Gators 17-15 in the opener. Alisha Dill and Alivia Bradley both rapped 3 hits. Kristen Capen was the winning hurler. Shannon Clark banged 3 hits for the Gators. Jolie Chabot added a pair of safeties.

Leeds took the second game 18-9 as Kristy Buzzell, Perry and Capen all socked 3 hits. Buzzell legged out a double and triple. Bradley was the winning pitcher. Top sticks for Greene were Melanie Ouellette and Sam Thibeault.
