LIVERMORE FALLS – Taryn Flagg hit a grand slam in the second inning and finished with seven RBIs to lead Livermore Falls to a 12-0 victory over Hall-Dale in a softball game Thursday.

Andies’ (11-5) pitcher Danielle Gray went the distance with seven strikeouts to pick up her third win of the year. Moriah Vellani and Melissa Gilson had the only two hits for Hall-Dale.

Lisbon 7, Winthrop 6

WINTHROP – Jen Hogan pitched out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the bottom of the seventh inning as Lisbon escaped Winthrop with a 7-6 win over the Ramblers in MVC softball action Thursday.

Dominique Mathieu led the Greyhounds (8-7) with three hits, including two doubles, while Andrea Piela and Nicky Strople each added a double in the winning effort.

Nic Emery and Heather Babb shared pitching duties for Winthrop (5-10), and Babb paced the offense as well with two hits, including a double.

Messalonskee 1, Leavitt 0

OAKLAND – Ciara Corbett scored the game-winning run on a dropped pop-up in the bottom of the 17th inning to give Messalonskee a 1-0 triumph over Leavitt in the KVAC championship game.

Messalonskee’s Clarice Pepper pitched all 17 innings and gave up just one walk and struck out 25 batters. Leavitt’s Sam St. Hilaire also went the distance with no walks and 19 strikeouts. St. Hilaire also led the Hornets offense with five hits.

Mountain Valley 7, Boothbay 0

RUMFORD – Kori Warren went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and Kristen Arsenault notched her second shutout of the season as Mountain Valley blanked Boothbay 7-0 in MVC softball action Thursday.

The Falcons (4-9) took command early with four runs in the second inning with Warren plating a pair.

Arsenault had two hits for MountainValley while holding the Seahawks (3-11) to the same number.

Georges Valley 6, Mountain Valley 2

RUMFORD – Lindsay Barlow struck out eight and improved her season record to 6-1 as Georges Valley downed the Falcons 6-2 Thursday.

The Buccaneers (12-2) scored five runs in the first two innings to secure the win. Georges Valley took advantage of five Falcon (4-10) errors and six walks to power the offense.

Rachel Strong was the game’s lone repeat hitter for the Buccaneers.

Jay 7, Mt. Abram 2

SALEM – Kaylee Demillo belted a two-run homer to lead Jay to a 7-2 win against Mt. Abram Thursday. Bree Loon went the distance to earn her 14th win of the year.

Britney Frailey had two hits for Jay (14-1). Sadie White scored both runs for Mt. Abram (8-8).

Maranacook 1, Oak Hill 0

READFIELD – Kim Anderson scored the game-winning run on a passed ball in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Maranacook a 1-0 victory over Oak Hill.

Maranacook’s (14-2) Abby Pullen pitched a complete-game, four-hit shutout with nine strikeouts.

Danielle Sargent pitched a complete-game, giving up just three hits and had three strikeouts for Oak Hill (12-4). Magan Blais had two hits for the Raiders.

Wiscasset 7, Monmouth 2

MONMOUTH – Wiscasset scored a pair of unearned runs in the first inning and coasted to a 7-2 victory over Monmouth.

The Redskins (8-7) took advantage of walks, errors and a couple of clutch hits to take control. Chelsea Grant had two singles and Courtney Barrett added a double for Monmouth (4-10). Jessica Gray made a fine defensive play in left to keep Monmouth in contention.
