GORHAM – Tip Fairchild of the University of Southern Maine baseball team was named to the NCAA Division III All-American team by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Fairchild, who played at Monmouth, had an outstanding sophmore year, finishing with a 9-1 record with an ERA of 1.41 and 72 strikeouts in 70 innings. Fairchild also batted well with a .364 batting average, five home runs and 26 RBIs.
