MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Jeff Bailey and Brett Roneberg hit home runs and Jerome Gamble pitched seven strong innings as the Portland Sea Dogs downed the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5-1 Saturday afternoon.

Portland scored the deciding run in the second inning when Bailey scored on a wild pitch by Cam Reimers (6-2), the losing pitcher.

Gamble (4-2) went seven innings, allowing just four hits and one earned run while striking out five and walking one.

John-Ford Griffin gave New Hampshire a 1-0 lead in the first inning, driving in Tyrell Godwin with a sacrifice fly.

Portland answered with a pair of runs in the second inning, and Roneberg’s eighth homer of the year increased the Portland lead to 3-1.

Bailey’s two-run homer in the eighth inning, his fifth of the season, completed the scoring.
