FARMINGTON – In celebration of its 75th anniversary on June 27, Franklin Memorial Hospital will offer several special activities and an open house.
As part of the festivities, FMH will sponsor an essay contest for people to share their “most memorable moment” at Franklin Memorial since the hospital’s founding in 1929.
Prizes will be awarded in four categories: funniest, most heartwarming, oldest recollection and most thrilling. One essay will be selected as the best overall.
All essays should be 500 words or less and illegible manuscripts will not be judged. Entry deadline is June 15.
Winners in each category will receive a gift certificate to Devaney, Doak, and Garrett Booksellers.
The best overall winner will be published in the June 25 Franklin Journal. All winning essays will be posted on the Franklin Community Health Network Web site.
Essays will become the property of Franklin Memorial Hospital and may be posted on the FCHN Web site and used in FCHN publications, crediting the author but without further compensation.
To submit essays, mail to: Community Relations Department, Franklin Memorial Hospital, 111 Franklin Health Commons, Farmington, ME 04938.
