LEWISTON – Rene D. Cote, 99, formerly of 625 Sabattus St. and for the past 13 years of Intown Manor, died Saturday, May 29, at Marshwood Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation after a two-week stay.

Born in Wottonville, Quebec, Canada, Oct. 29, 1904 a son of Wilfred and Leonie Begin Cote, he was educated in Canadian schools. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1926 to 1946 serving during World War II. He later worked at Bates Mfg. Co. as a nightwatchmen until his retirement.

Mr. Cote was a member of Holy Family Parish, Union St. Jean Baptiste, Ordre de Forestier, Holy Name Society of St. Peter and Paul’s Parish, Cercle Missionaire and St. Therese Association.

He is survived by: nieces, Pauline Cote Roy, Rita and Henry Paul Roy, Rolande and Ernest Provencher; a nephew, Laurent and Ruth Cote.

He was predeceased by: his sisters, Alice, Cecile Cote and Antoinette Cloutier, his brothers, Gabriel, Fernand, Camille and Roland Cote.
