EUSTIS – The Maine Department of Transportation has begun work on the Alder Stream Bridge in Jim Pond Township. Motorists using Route 27 between Eustis and the Canadian Border are advised to use extra care and caution at the bridge for the next eight weeks.

“We are going to replace the wearing surface, or top layer of the bridge deck, on Alder Stream Bridge,” said Herb Noyes, MDOT’s bridge maintenance manager for that part of the state. Noyes said that during the roughly two months he expects it will take to complete the project, drivers can expect to encounter alternating one-way traffic on the bridge.
