MONMOUTH – Colleen Marguerite Lagassie, 72, passed away peacefully by her daughter Deanne’s side, and went to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, May 31, after a long illness.

She was born in Wilton on March 31, 1932. Her maiden name was Rand, later to be adopted by her mother, Emma Bubier. Emma Bubier was a significant inspiration of love in Colleen’s life.

She attended Wilton Academy where she graduated from high school, and played in violin recitals. She often talked about her love of Wilton Academy, her dedication to her paper route and Girls Scouts.

She worked hard in various shoe shops in Lewiston as a stitcher. She enjoyed music, reading, knitting, movies, bumper pool, playing cards and loved animals, especially her Scottie dog.

Survivors include her sister Vi; two nieces; Aunt Marguerite Holbrook; and two cousins, Jean Dorson and Joan Caouette, both of Wayne; Earl Lagassie, the father of her four daughters, and his wife Marie Lagassie of Sabattus; daughters Earleen Lagassie, Deanne and her husband Ted St. Pierre of Monmouth, and Judy Villani of Lewiston; five grandchildren, John and is wife Danielle Tremblay, Kristopher and Chelsea St. Pierre, Andrew and Amber Leach; and two great-grandchildren, Marissa and Morgan Tremblay.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Linda Lagassie of Lewiston.
