LIVERMORE FALLS – The 11th District Court here is closing on Wednesday, June 30.
New cases and those already pending are being transferred to Lewiston District Court effective July 1, said Ted Glessner, Maine court administrator.
Glessner said the state opted to keep the cases filed in the northern Androscoggin division in Livermore Falls in Androscoggin County at the southern court division.
Glessner had said earlier that there could be a possibility of some cases being transferred to Franklin County.
Sue Copeland, the Livermore Falls court clerk, is in the process of setting up appointments for family matters cases so that services are not interrupted when the court closes, said Susan Bement, clerk of courts at 8th District Court.
The District Court in Lewiston is at 71 Lisbon St.
