STRONG – Lew-Ellyn Hughes was named Employee of the Month at Strong Nursing Home recently.

“L.E.,” as she likes to be called, is a nurse and has worked at the facility for a year. She is recognized for her positive attitude. Her peers sid, “You feel better just being around her.”

Hughes resides in Stratton with Forrest Pelletier and her youngest daughter, Holland, and Sadie Mae, a golden retriever. Their home is the location of their bed and breakfast, “Diamond Corner.”

Hughes is a columnist for the Rangeley Highlander and the Yarmouth Notes. She has two adult daughters, Kelly and Emily Ann, and a grandson, Aiden Gage, 7.

When asked why she enjoys working at Strong Nursing Home, Hughes said, “I worked one shift and I fell in love with the residents and the people who work here.”
