LIVERMORE FALLS – The 2003 annual town report is available at the town office. Town meeting is next week.
The report is dedicated to Laura Alvino of Park Street. The dedication notes that her years as a member and president of the auxiliary to George Bunten Post No. 10, American Legion, and her service as an election clerk are appreciated.
“Children for many years grew up with her being at Taglienti’s Store and her hard work of decorating her home on Park Street brightens the area for many,” the dedication continues.
“Livermore Falls would do well with having many more citizens like Laura Alvino.”
Besides departmental reports, the booklet contains the 41 articles facing voters on June 8 and 9.
Election of officers will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 8 at the fire station. Voters will choose one selectman for two years and one for three years, a town clerk/treasurer for two years and three school directors, one for two years and two for three years.
The remainder of the warrant, including $2,040,981 in spending requests from the selectmen, will be taken up at the New Norland Grange Hall in East Livermore at 7 p.m. on June 9.
The budget committee has different recommendations on several articles that would increase the selectmen’s figures by about $30,000.
