LEWISTON – Marcel L. Rousseau, 81, of Sabattus St. Lewiston died at Central Maine Medical Center Tuesday June 1, 2004. He was born in Auburn on October 16, 1922 the son of Philias and Yvonne ( St Onge ) Rousseau. He was educated locally and was a member of St. Peter & Paul Parish. Marcel joined the United States Army

and served his country during World War II in which he was awarded the Purple Heart. On May 14, 1949, Marcel married Marie Lavoie and settled down to raise their family. He was employed in Lisbon at the Bonafide Mill where he worked in the shipping and receiving department until his retirement in 1991. Mr. Rousseau enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his wife in Florida. Mr. Rousseau is survived by his wife of fifty five years Mrs. Marie Rousseau, his daughter, Sandra Caron and her husband Alphee of Lewiston, his son, Gary Rousseau and his wife Arlene also of Lewiston, grandchildren, Michelle Lessard and her husband Ricky of Lisbon, Amy Rousseau of Lisbon, Robert Rice of Lewiston, Michael Cardinal and wife Michelle of Fort Campbell, KY., his great grandchild Dylan Cardinal also of Fort Campbell, KY., and his brother Roland Rousseau and his wife Theresa of Lewiston. Marcel was predeceased by his brothers Leo, Robert, and Armand.
