LEWISTON – Army Spc. Beau R. Beaulieu, 20, of Lisbon will be buried at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery Thursday in Augusta. Assigned to the 27th Main Support Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, in Fort Hood, Texas, he was killed in Taji, Iraq, on May 24 during a mortar attack on Camp Cooke.

The family has requested that the media refrain from covering the funeral and interment and the Sun Journal will respect that wish.

The governor’s office has ordered all flags to be flown at half-staff Thursday in salute to Beaulieu’s service and sacrifice.
