This is a great chance to reduce the significantly excessive toll on the old exits 12, 13 and others. Residents and businesses (using trucking and busing) of these old exits have paid $1 to be connected to Gray (about 12 miles of road) long enough.

Except for political pressure to keep it away from Cumberland County, why isn’t there a toll between the old exits 6 and 7. There it would catch much more trucking and tourism revenue that currently slides off at exits 7 through 11, including the old interstates 295 and 495 outflows.

Results would be increased revenue, a reduced economic barrier to Lewiston-Auburn and a much more equitable distribution of costs.

Thanks for considering this old idea.
