JAY – Police arrested a Wilton man Thursday for allegedly stealing a $1,700 dirt bike in late May.

Officer Roy Hodsdon arrested Derek Cook, 19, of Wilton and charged him with felony theft, said Jay Police Chief Larry White Sr. said.

The bike was reported stolen from the East Dixfield Road on May 26.

Although it had been chained to a snowmobile, somebody had cut the chain and took the bike, White said.

During the investigation, Hodsdon received information that led him to Temple and then to Cook in Wilton, White said.
