WEST PARIS – Evelyn Verna Herrick, 72, of Sumner, died at the Ledgeview Living Center on June 6, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Buckfield, Aug. 15, 1931, the daughter of Eugene and Marion (Stevens) Hazelton, and was educated in Sumner schools.

She worked at local mills for many years. She was an avid Red Sox fan and also enjoyed NASCAR. Her greatest joy in life was her family.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Edward Herrick Sr. of Sumner; one son, Edward Herrick Jr. and his wife, Donna of Sumner; one daughter, Dottie Richards and her husband, Raymond of Sumner; one brother, Dr. Warren Hazleton and his wife, Marie of Norway; one sister, Shirley Norton and her husband, Sonny of Norway; a special nephew, Alan Hazleton; four grandchildren, Devon Richards of Sumner, Amy Herrick of Sumner, Sarah Richardson of Buckfield and Jennie Herrick of Sumner; and one great-granddaughter, Jamie Richardson of Buckfield.

She was predeceased by one brother, Kenneth Hazleton.
