WILTON – Several items have been reported damaged or missing at a Main Street business.

The damage is starting to add up, Wilton police officer Ed Leahy said of the incidents, which have occurred at different times. There has been nearly $400 in damage and missing items, he said.

The business owner has noticed items out of place, damaged or gone, and a door unlocked. A printer was damaged and had to be replaced; a ball from a computer mouse was taken; a cordless telephone receiver was missing and its cradle left behind; a document was ripped into pieces. The owner also said a slide lock on a door was closed at the end of one work day but was found open the next day, Leahy said.

The person responsible faces theft and burglary charges, Leahy said.

In a separate incident, Leahy said police are also investigating two windows being shot out of two vehicles in May.

It is believed a high-powered pellet gun was used to shoot out a windshield and a rear window, Leahy said.
