NORWAY – Robert Hatch began his duties as new director of The Child Health Center on June 1. He succeeds Roy Gedat, who held the position for 18 years.

Hatch brings 12 years of experience working with children’s services and business. A Maine native, he has a degree in human development/early childhood education with an emphasis in neuropsychology as related to child development from Wheelock College in Boston. He said he had been looking for a position that would bring him and his family back to Maine and closer to his family. He and his wife and two children have moved to the Norway area.

Gedat left the Child Health Center to pursue other interests. He has seen the agency grow from a nonprofit organization with two programs in the Norway area to one with nine programs throughout Oxford, Androscoggin, northern Cumberland and southern Franklin counties.
