LEWISTON – Jeanne M. Hebert, 88, formerly of 100 Campus Ave., passed away Tuesday, June 8, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion.

Born in Van Buren, April 3, 1916, the daughter of David and Philomene Devoe Bouchard, she moved to Waterville with her family.

In 1935, Mrs. Hebert married Edward Hebert and they lived together in the Lewiston-Auburn area. She was a full-time homemaker, mother and helped her husband in the family owned business, Edward Hebert & Sons General Contractors. Mr. Hebert passed away Oct. 13, 1987.

She enjoyed cooking and fishing at Moosehead Lake. She also enjoyed many hobbies including knitting, crafts and gardening. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish, the Knights of Columbus Council 106, Ladies Auxiliary and Monsignor T.H. Wallace Fourth Degree Wives, where she was named mother of the year a few years ago.

Survivors include four daughters, Louella Fortunato and husband, John of Minot, Joanne Poulin and husband, Robert of Lewiston, Barbara Moreau and husband, Maurice of Jay and Gloria Grenham of Lewiston; two sons, Richard A. Hebert and wife, Mariette and Daniel R. Hebert and wife, Linda, all of Lewiston; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Roland Bouchard and wife, Myrna of Ellington, Conn.; and a sister-in-law, Lillian Bouchard of New Britain, Conn.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Gladys Thibodeau and Martha Rancourt; and four brothers, George, Guy, Albert and Harvey Bouchard.
