MONMOUTH – The Theater at Monmouth will present “The Black Fly Follies” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 19.
This preseason favorite is a night of music, comedy and performances in the style of an old-fashioned variety show.
Past performances have featured musical theater, guitar playing, improvisation with audience participation, sketch comedy and tap dancing.
The evening will culminate in a musical finale with all of the performers.
This is a chance to watch the summer company members show off their other talents in an informal night of fun.
“The Black Fly Follies” will be performed onstage at one of Maine’s gems, historic Cumston Hall. In the last several years, this Victorian-style opera house has undergone a $1.8 million revitalization, including a new addition, air conditioning, an elevator, new restrooms and new theater seats.
Tickets are $18 for general admission and $14 for seniors and students. People can order tickets by calling the box office at (207) 933-9999.
