Testing offered

FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington is offering a free exam, the Miller Analogies Test, to qualifying individuals who are interested in applying to a graduate institution within the next five years. The test will be offered in June and July.

The test assesses aptitude in several areas, such as the ability to recognize relationships between ideas; fluency in the English language; and general knowledge of literature, philosophy, history, science, mathematic and fine arts.

Test-takers must be first time MAT test-takers and must complete two MAT test forms on the same day, one on computer and the other on paper.

The standard $55 fee for the test will be waived for participants who take the test in summer. Each test-taker will receive an official score from one of the MAT tests; the scores are valid for five years.

More information on the MAT may be obtained on the Internet at www.MillerAnalogies.com. People may register to take the test at UMF by calling Cindy Kimble at the UMF Center for Human Development at 778-7039.
