And if you’re looking for something more local, U.S. Sen. The albums will be forwarded to the family following the month-long period of national mourning.

Dear Sun Spots: Could anyone help us to keep religious events available to the residents of a Farmington nursing home? We are looking for donations of new, used or copies of the Gaither Vocal Band DVDs or VCR tapes to play for the residents on Sunday evenings. They truly do miss being part of the religious community and so love to hear and sing along with the music. If you would like to share your unused treasures, this would be a great gift to so many. Please call (207) 645-3679 or send to 50 Barbridge Drive, Jay, ME 04239-4209. Thank you in advance for taking the time to care. – Ronald Moreau, Jay.

Dear Sun Spots: A small women’s health center in central Maine is setting up a special room for women who’ve had breast cancer and is in need of a couple of items to make it a warm, inviting place for a consultation. We could use a wrought-iron or wooden baker’s rack to display items on and a wooden cabinet in which to store boxes, both in good condition. A vanity-type table would be nice, but not necessary. Any other decorative items designed to make a room feel special and feminine would be nice. Thanks for whatever help you can give. Please call Sue at (207) 388-2801 and leave a message, or email me at flynfa@yahoo.com. – Sue, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: I am moving soon and have two cockatiel birds with a cage to give away. I would like them to go to a nursing home or office waiting room where many people can enjoy them. My grandmother was in an area nursing home that has two birds, which are enjoyed greatly by both staff and residents. If your facility would like them, please leave a message and phone number at (207) 753-1452 and I will return your call. – Becky, Auburn.

Dear Sun Spots: You’re such a treasure-trove of information.

Is there anyone out there in Sun Spots land that has old cigar boxes they would love to get rid of? Any smoke shops in town? Please call and leave a message (207) 783-3707. – Crafty Lady, No Town.
