MEXICO – New businesses or people considering a move to Mexico will get a package of information about the area, topped with a new slogan – “Come Grow With Us.”

Code Enforcement Officer David Errington unveiled the new slogan at Wednesday’s Board of Selectmen’s meeting, said Town Clerk Penny Duguay. The town will also retain its original slogan on the entrance and exit signs of the town – “Gateway to the Western Mountains.”

The additional slogan is meant to reflect and emphasize the number of commercial and business changes that have taken place in the town during the past few years.

In other matters on Wednesday, Duguay said the board set a tentative date for the annual Night of Appreciation for the town’s employees and volunteers for Thursday, Sept. 16. Selectmen also agreed to hold only one board meeting per month during July and August.

Duguay said the board will appoint a member to the SAD 43 Board of Directors at its June 23 meeting. She said none of the remaining top four write-ins from Tuesday’s election agreed to accept the one position left to represent the town. Tammi MacDonald had agreed earlier to take the other position.

Duguay will contact all who received a write-in vote to gauge interest in the position. Also, anyone interested in serving on the SAD 43 board should contact the town office at 364-7971. The one remaining position is for two years.
