The self-proclaimed views of the left never cease to amaze me. They never let facts get in the way of their beliefs. The “Squandered” letter written by Denis Ledoux (June 9) is a prime example of the fiction they proclaim as the truth.
Saddam Hussein gave aid and comfort to top al-Qaida operatives and allowed the operation of a terrorist training camp. Where did Ledoux ever come up with “Saddam was on the al-Qaida hit list?” And who has ever called Iraq a “weak dictatorship?”
The French, Germans and Russians opposed our going into Iraq because they did not want us to find out about their involvement in the “oil-for-food” program, and their skimming of billions of dollars for their own use, while violating several U.N. resolutions. Are these the “friends” that the left wants us to put in charge of our future?
President Bush never lied about the weapons of mass destruction. Every intelligence agency of the free world believed that the WMD existed, and just because they have not been found does not mean that they did not exist.
You can not negotiate with terrorists. The only thing we can give the terrorists that they would accept is our death and the end of the free world. Is that the kind of future the leftist Democrats envision for our children? I would never suggest that the left invented al-Qaida, but that does not stop them from spreading their lies and creating their own “truth.”
