LEWISTON – Erin Pendexter of New Gloucester has been nominated for Maine Hospital Association’s Caregiver of the Year. The cardiopulmonary nurse was selected by CMMC President and Chief Executive Officer Peter E. Chalke.
Pendexter’s co-workers cited her for numerous outstanding qualities, including her nursing practice emphasis on spirituality, patient advocacy, and team leadership. In nominating her for the award, her peers noted her consistently expert clinical care skills and holistic approach to nursing practice.
“Erin Pendexter is an outstanding nurse and we are proud to nominate her for this award,” said Chalke.
Pendexter has worked at CMMC for more than 20 years. She graduated from the Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing in 2000 and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Southern Maine in Portland in 2003.
A committee of former MHA chairmen will select the winner of the award. The winner will be announced at the MHA’s 2004 Summer Forum on June 23.
