WILTON – Wilton police arrested Travis Toothaker Friday morning after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend at their home in Wilton.

Jennifer Graham, 28, of Wilton, called police at 2 a.m. but was cut off when Toothaker, 32, broke the telephone, police said.

According to officer Terry Warren of the Wilton Police Department, Toothaker had left Graham at a Livermore Falls bar the night before. When Toothaker returned to their residence in Arkay Trailer Park, a verbal dispute turned into a physical one, Warren said. Toothaker reportedly struck Graham several times.

Toothaker left the residence. He was arrested by officer Ed Leahy at 8:30 a.m. when he tried to return home.

Graham was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital; she was treated and released.

Toothaker was taken to Franklin County Jail. He is being held on charges of probation violations, assault and hindering the report of a crime. His initial hearing is set for July 28.
