TOPSHAM – Shirley L. Labbe, 78, of Winter Street, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 15, at her home.

She was born in Westbrook, on April 21, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Phyllis Reed Hannaford.

She attended Otisfield schools. In 1943, she married Kenneth Gilpatric Sr.

Mrs. Labbe was employed as a stitcher at Health-Tex for 10 years and later was employed as a dishwasher at Grand City.

She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, visiting Beaver Park in Lisbon, her kitty, One-Eye, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a son, Charles D. Gilpatric and his wife, Gloria of Lisbon; two sisters; three grandchildren, Christina Hildebrandt and her husband, Scott of Bowdoin, Jason Gilpatric and his wife, Amanda of Richmond and Tonya Johnson of Oxford; many great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Ashley E. Winslow on Feb. 17; a granddaughter, Angela C. Thomas; and a sister.
