PORTLAND – The Information Systems Security Association welcomed the newly-formed Southern Maine Chapter recently to its global membership of information security professionals.

Founded by Alex Bradstreet, this is one of more than 86 active ISSA chapters, with members in nearly 100 countries worldwide. The ISSA is the largest international, not-for-profit organization for information security professionals, with local chapters formed to provide a forum for practitioners to enhance their knowledge and skill-level.

The primary goal of the ISSA is to promote management practices that will ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information resources.

Through international conferences, local chapter meetings, educational programs, training and other activities, the organization has created a professional network that extends throughout the world. Participation and communication among the ISSA’s nearly 10,000 members helps the group maintain its position as the Global Voice of Information Security.

The Southern Maine Chapter is holding is first member meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, to celebrate the new Chapter and also to mark the 20th Anniversary of the ISSA.
