LEWISTON – Bertrand G. (Tico) Michaud, 75, a resident of 127 Sixth St., Auburn, died Sunday, June 20, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, following a long illness.

Born in Lewiston, Aug. 15, 1928, the son of Paul F. and Leona (Ouellette) Michaud, he attended local schools.

He had served in the the U.S. Air Force from 1946 to 1949, the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953, and the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1960.

Mr. Michaud had also resided in Las Vegas from 1960 to 1972, where he had been employed as a bellman at the Dunes Hotel. He then returned to Maine, and worked 15 years for the Bates Manufacturing Co., until his retirement.

He loved hunting, fishing, gambling and his cat, “Truman.” He was loved by everyone and was a kind and gentle soul.

Survivors include his wife, the former Therese M. Bernier, whom he married Oct. 5, 1957, of Auburn; one sister, Rita L. Michaud of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and one sister, Rita L. Michaud.
