SPRINGFIELD, N.H. (AP) – A man has been charged with shooting his brother to death, police said.

Nick Vassar, 26, was killed about 10 p.m. Sunday, police said. He was shot multiple times with a handgun.

His brother, Ethan Vassar, 30, has been charged with second-degree murder. The brothers lived together.

Authorities did not say what prompted the shooting.

Ethan Vassar was arraigned Monday in Newport District Court. He didn’t say anything during his appearance and a hearing was scheduled for July 1.

An autopsy on Nick Vassar was expected to be conducted Monday.
